Has anyone out there done healing work with crystals and stones? I bought a book and am going to try some of the techniques. Something has got to give around here besides me!
-
i used to teach tai chi and qigong and also had a hand in assisting the healing of some of my client/friends of various conditions. i did some work with crystals and stones, mostly amethyst and the common crystals, quartz, aquamarine, too.
mostly, like all of the 'alternative' methods, these tools are really useful in a psychological way, but as far as having any effect on the organic and/or 'physical' aspects of a condition; not at all.
if your concern is de-stressing, you might find some relief from working with crystals. it does require some effort. meditation skills are necessary and deep relaxation techniques will enhance any work you do with them.

I have done deep relaxation techniques as well as hypnosis and meditation. I am pretty good at it, too. I am hoping to help equalize the energies and help the body to manage this disease better.

well, don't get your hopes too high, kitkatz. like i said, it can enhance your meditation/relaxation efforts, and the de-stressing of that can be helpful to a degree, but as for effecting any positive change on a condition like ours, i've never seen any evidence of that.
i was absolutely oppossed to western medical practice before i got ill. then, i went to a hebalist/acupuncturist when i was diagnosed. (a professor of chinese medicine) he tried, bless him, but was unable to help me out.
i gave in to western medicine and am glad i did, really.

All I want to do is help the healing energies I already have work better. I am not really expecting anything except maybe a little more energy. If it gets me to meditate and relax more often because I am working with rocks, then great for me. I have to stop feeling so rotten mentally and spiritually all of the time.

Prayer and communication with Jesus is the answer. Just take time with Him everyday. Like any personal relationship the more you communicate the better it gets.
Try to join a Womens Fellowship in a Bible believing Christian Church. One of the little non-denominational ones. I'll remember to pray for you Kit.
As far as rocks and crystals.... diamonds and rubies always make me feel better. :santahat;

Kitkat, you have been dealing with so much the past year. I wish I had magic words to help you. Books help me. Some just take me away, some enlighten me, some make me laugh. From the Bible, the Psalms are where I go. They give me comfort and peace in their rhythmic cadence. Music is my second "go to"; again to take me mentally away and forget for just a moment. If the stones and crystals help give you a sense of calm, I would do it. It can't hurt and maybe will help by being something to focus on that isn't work or kidney related. We love you! Take good care of yourself :cuddle;

That is what this is for. Something for me to work on just for me. Then it will be back to work.

Anything that gives you some mental time away from ESRD has got to be good for you. Do what you think will help you the most.

Kit, you are the one who does everything for everyone. It is so important to do something that is just for you and doesn't include anyone else (even sweet Victor!). As women, I think we feel guilty when we take time for ourselves. You have to have something to help you stay sane. You know nothing is changing your kidneys, but your emotional and mental outlook can be soothed. Try the stones and give us some feedback. It may be helpfull to many of us. We need all the tricks we can find to get us through each day. I hope you find something that gives you a moment of peace and calm. :cuddle;
