Hi everyene. Hope your weekend went well. Have a couple of questions to ask about working on dialysis. 1- i am currently looking for a job - do i tell my future employer when i have the interview that i have a medical disablity? Some people i've talked to say that i should be upfront and tell when i'm being interviewed, others have said that i should wait until afterwards when i've been hired. What do you think? 2- how do i tell a future employer that i will need a semi-sterile room to do my 12 o'clock exchanges? 3- all if not most jobs have an attendence requirment, however i'm in the hosptial alot, as all of you have probably experienced. iMy question is this, is there a way i can keep my job or get a job back if i;m let go becasue of poor attendence? It is not like i'm takeing days off becasue i decided to get drunk the nite before and have a hangover...it is always becasuse i am in the hospital usually with a life threatenign ailment. I was let go from a retail job at the end of the christmas season, it was a seasonal job but i was promised by the manager that she woudl keep me on. when i asked the manager what the criteria was for keepign people she said "performance and attendance were big factors" Well my performance was excellent but my attendence was poor as the week i was hired i was in the hospital and then again during my time there. was there anything i could have done? THanks guys. i don't know what i woudl do if i didn't have people to talk to. Take care.

Claudia,
Look into the Americans with disabilities act. Maybe you can find some answers. Good Luck to you.
