I remember telling you about a patient who made me very sad, at the way she seemed to need some kind of comfort. The irony was that she was a former Minister of Health, and a woman with lots of property, etc. But she used to be making all kinds of sounds and crying out. Recently she had a stroke and was no longer able to talk, just making sounds like a wounded animal. Well, she passed away on Old Year's Day. I had seen her at dialysis just the day before (they had us come in on Sunday). How sad.

It is sad when a patient we know dies. It reminds us of our own immortality. I wish her peace.

Sometimes there are some people who we simply cannot comfort. I pray she now has comfort and peace.

Sad to hear, but she is not suffering any more. I always have mixed feelings when I hear of someone passing, when they
are in that situation. I'm happy they don't suffer, but I am sad that it did happen.
