My father has been on dialysis for 3 yrs. With all that I've read and printed out for him, I'm still looking for the place where people tell the truth about complications, side affects and life in general while on dialysis. We have had a few unpleasant supprises. If we knew what to expect it would be better.
My father lives alone, 5 hr from me. He has no friends except a lady whom he's been friends with for 30 yrs. They see each other everyday and live in their seperate homes around the corner. My brother lives near by but is not much help.
Dad is 80 and she is 76 and so far they help each other but I can see changes coming soon. Dad's starting to have trouble with his bones and is pain from that and the fistula is a pesky problem among other things. ::)
I'm here to gain some info and maybe share my limited experiences.

Welcome aboard!
Look around and ask unanswered questions about dialysis. For the most part we're all sharing the same pain.......

Welcome, Dad's Girl! We are happy to have you with us. This is just the place to find out lots of stuff that you don't get otherwise. I suggest that you read through the posts especially in FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions, and the General Discussion.
Thanks, Richard, I do appreciate your help.
