Title: sports with fistula?
Post by: Anonymous on December 03, 2007, 11:56:08 PM
hello, im in my early 20s and i have been getting dialysis through the fistula (located at middle of my left arm) for a little over a month now and things have been going good so far... the dialysis techs tell me that my vein is pretty deep.. now i want to get back to playing sports like basketball and soccer (i feel i need the exercise) but i obviously need to protect my arm. so that takes me to my question... anyone else here with a fistula play sports? if so, what kinda protection do you recommend? thanks in advance!

I play sport with my fistula. I would avoid any contact sport. I have played cricket, baseball, soccer and I almost forgot table tennis.
