I am about to begin dialysis, supposedly on Wednesday - will find out later today, and will begin on NxStage. I have a graft that was put in a couple of months ago, a fistula was not possible given my veins.
Can anyone tell me how NxStage does with a graft? No button holes, I know, but does the graft cause any particular problems?/bobt

No problems with mine so far, other than regular fistulagrams, which I was getting on in-center as well, so that hasn't changed. I think home hemo is actually better for them - I can control the needle sticks this way, and they get rotated consistently, unlike the center, with random nurses sticking wherever they felt like sticking that day.

I'm on NxStage with a graft, but mine is constantly giving me problems. I don't think it has anything to do with NxStage/6 days/wk, though. I just have a graft with a mind of it's own.

Thanks for the information. Now it looks like I will start in-center, then transition to NxStage. Neph was for in-center first, then thought he saw a "window" to get me on NxStage, now back to in-center. Have been fooling around with docs for 30 years through two separate cancers and now ESKD. Some things never change./bobt
