Do you read it? If you do why?
If you don't why?
I read and study from it on a daily basis and just would like to know what some of you here do.

I don't and don't have any reason why...Boxman

I do, but I definitely could/should read it more than I do.

When I'm really blue,I'll flip to any page in the New Testament. It usually lifts my mood.
-
I read it.
Not nearly enough lately however. Past few months just havent felt like reading much of anything.
-
I've tried several times but i start getting confused ::)

My feelings about religion are very conflicted- that being said -i read the bible twenty years ago and did enjoy it very much. The stories are incredible. I have not read the Bible for years, I am not even sure I am a Christan, but I do admire the faith that people have, it is nice that you have that to sustain you.
Its nice to see you again Duane- you are a very sunny face here. :)

I have read the complete bible roughly 15 years ago. I don't read it anymore but have referenced to it a few times.
-
I do and just today while in church was thinking of you guys here on IHD. The Word is so complete to me and yes there are questions, but it seems any I have, the Lord is kind enough to answer through his Word. I have a great church and wornderful church family. God is alive in me and I am comforted to know he died for me. Just like he died for you. He loves me and you, just as we are TODAY, and that gives me great peace.

God's Word has always been THE Book in my life. I have been a Christian for 64 years. Now I mostly read it on the
computer, because of my eyesight. My grandson studies the history of the Bible on the puter. It is amazing
what you can learn, when or if you want to.

I have read it all once, and don't plan on reading it completely again as of right now. I do not really have a religion nor want one, as I am content in what I believe. I admire everyone who believes strongly in whatever it is they believe and stick with it and are not influenced to start believing something else, and I also respect people for not pushing what they believe on others.

I have read it, but need to read it more. I usually go to a non-denominational bible believing church. I like to read the bible. It comforts me to know there is a place prepared for me.

It is so interesting to see this thread. Just this evening, I have started on personal project to read through the Bible in two years. I do read it every day, as I believe it is God's revelation of Himself to us, but I would like to read it through in an organized way, apart from my devotional use of it.

I have always thought the Bible is a great history book. It has many themes that we can learn about and use in our lives.
-
History yes, but as you read it and apply it I beleive it is much more than that. I don't see it so much as a book to read cover to cover as much as to read a part and research it and ponder the writer's meaning, what it means to me now.

AMEN!!! That is what it is all about, i love the saying: I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is. :bow;

I've never read the whole thing and until I got married, never had a copy in the house. But since that one is hers, I'll pick up a new one next time I stay at a hotel >:D

The Bible happens to be the most stolen book in the world.

I leaned a lot keeping up with The Complete Blogging the Bible. By David Plotz http://www.slate.com/id/2150150/ The routine violence surprised me, for instance 1 Kings 18:24,38-40 or II Kings 2:23-24 ... having a bunch of punks mauled by bears because they called you baldy is a bit extreme.
-
I do believe in the Bible and I have trusted Christ as my Saviour but I must admit that I do not read it every day. That is my fault and something I must change.
-
I used to make a habit of going to The Bible whenever I had a question or felt down about life in general. Now, for some reason, at the most trying time in my life, I have completely neglected it. I guess part of me feels guilty turning to God's word only when I'm down. We are called on to form a personal relationship with God, so I should be going to him in times of joy as readily in as times of despair. I do talk to him everyday, and try to bring him my joys then. I guess I need to spend more time reading/hearing His word than my own.

Would love to own a Bible and read about it. Find solarity during trivial time dealing with complex issues.
