Title: New Permacath Wed/No Good Thurs.
Post by: 2_DallasCowboys on November 10, 2007, 07:33:58 AM: Well, the new permcath was placed on Wednesday, when Les went to
dialysis on Thrusday the nurse said it was not good. It seems that it is
not large enough (the tubes) to give him a good pump speed. So, now
we have been in touch with Dr, and he has to change it again. This
is not a major problem compared to some of the stuff I have read here,
but it sure is discouraging.
Also, we met with the Phila Dr who did an ultrasound on his arm, and
said he did not foresee any problem getting him a working fistula. He also
did say that when he went in, if there were problems he would put a
graft in right then.
I am praying that this week will go well, and the permcath will be OK
till the damn fistula can be used.
