Title: New Alarm - 601 - NxStage doesn't know what it is
Post by: skyedogrocks on October 25, 2007, 05:17:08 AM
Last night we encountered a new code, 601.  It's not in the training manual at all.  Apparently, NxStage doesn't know what it is either.  :rant;

It happened when Rob had to unhook to use the bathroom, we recirculated the blood and hooked him back up when he was finished.  We had been running for a few mins when he got alarm 601.  Since it didn't have that alarm, but said for the high alarms to turn the system on and off right away we did that.  Everything went back to normal, but I still wanted to talk to NxStage cust. service about it.  Well they didn't know what it was and said they will research it.  Are you kidding me???  Shouldn't they know all the codes?  I was just aggrevated about it and wonder what other alarm codes they don't know about.

On a better note, Rob hasn't had any issues for the past few weeks with his access, that is great!

Did you ever find out what the alarm was?

Last night I had a 602 alarm.  I did the shut off shut on and everything was fine.  Just now (literally a few minutes ago) I got a #603 alarm and I haven't even been on for an hour yet.

I'll give them a call tomorrow and report back here.

All I know is an alarm code that high is a system error within the machine.

The only thing that you can do to clear it is to turn the machine off and turn it back on and hope you get a yellow 40 restart.

I got a 608 during training and was told that the first step was to restart and if you got the error again after restart to call NxStage for a new cycler.

I kept getting the 603s last repeatedly thru-out the treatment.  I must've had to turn it off and on about 6 times before my treatment was done.  (I was a 1.7k over though so I was determined to finish!)

Anyway - just spoke with Eric at Customer Service (he was very nice, by the way!)

Like Terry said, those high number alarms means a swap out.  He's going to call me back and see if they can have a new one for me by tomorrow.

Yes, the 600's are computer errors.  That's what I was getting when they swapped out mine as well.

I am relatively new to NxStage I completed my training November 1st, 2007 and I absolutely love it!!  I have never experienced the 600 alarms and frankly I hope I never do.  I did meet Eric during a bout of 38 alarms and he is a wonderful tech.  He is very caring and helpful and without him I wouldn't have the new machine that was delivered on New Year's Eve.  He deserves a medal in my book.

I had an 842 alarm yesterday...a new one for me...so I called and was asked if the sack was cold. Well, yeah it was out in the garage, Seems it was too cold and freaked out the sensor in the tub...so be aware this winter to bring the sack to room temp before putting in the tub!
