DaVita Establishes Hotline for Dialysis Patients across Southern California in Response to Wildfire Evacuations
Dialysis Patients Requiring Treatment Encouraged to Call (800) 400-8331
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As a result of the fires in across Southern California, some DaVita clinics in those areas will be unable to provide dialysis services until evacuation orders are lifted. DaVita has established a hotline for kidney patients to help find open clinics and schedule treatments. Patients requiring dialysis treatment are encouraged to call (800) 400-8331 if they have not already been contacted directly by DaVita representatives.
Kidney failure patients – who require dialysis treatments three times per week – are at high risk during emergencies as they depend on life-sustaining dialysis treatments. The DaVita Hotline is a resource to let patients and their families know whether clinics are open for treatment. Live operators assist in making alternative arrangements for treatment if necessary.
DaVita Inc. is one of the largest providers of dialysis services in the United States, providing dialysis services for those diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and disease. DaVita manages over 1,300 outpatient facilities and acute units in over 700 hospitals located in 42 states and the District of Columbia, serving approximately 100,000 patients.
