Well, I just did. A couple of people call it close to burgundy. It's not as dark as burgundy. It's possible I'm just in denial.......... I don't want to faint. I also have some lighter highlights added. I think I would like the color on someone else just not MY head. I really like the cut, I'm always trying to look on the bright side. Burgundy also goes fabulous with my green eyes.

:pics; How about a photo? :)

My nickname from one of my sister's used to be Blondie. Right now she might call me scary. I'll see what I can do.
-
One of my daughter's has burgandy hair with subtle highlights. I actually like it. The other daughter has a lighter red with blond highlights. They both like to change colors as their lives change! Are you getting use to the color?
-
No. :oops;
-
Yes loads of times .. i have been burgundy and punky. Then went to blonde . nowadays i'm more my natural colour which is dark blonde. I have had streaks in as well in the past. I just got so fed up of the high maintanence of being blonde and the expense !!!
-
Yup. Not lately though, so my gray REALLY shows. The heck with it. Between the sores on my head and the lack of energy, I just plain don't care right now!!! I used to go quite a broad spectrum. I've been burgundy, I've been red, I've been black, too!! That was odd. I like burgundy, myself!!
-
:oops; My daughter did! Came up with a burgundy, too. After about 3 weeks we bought Clairol's lightest ash
blonde and put it on. You have to have ash to cut the red. It cut the red out and about a month later we
frosted it. Blond on Blond. Turned it into a beautiful color. :2thumbsup; You do have to consider your natural color. Her's
was a dark blond.

I go dark in the winter and light in the summer, i have the best hairdresser in town, I just wanna give "Ed" a shout out, HOLLA... I love you my miracle worker :clap;

I am a natural blonde. A few yearas ago I had a coupon for free highlights for blonde here so I decided to try it. I read the instructions and went to work. I set the timer for the time I had to leave it in. Well when the time was about half gone I looked in the mirror and I was orange!!! I burst out laughing and tried to wash it out. Package said it was supposed to wash out in 6 to 8 shampoos. I washed and washed but had orange roots for about a month!! Never again. Although I have been tempted to go black. I can just imagine what I would look like with eyebrows so blonde you can't see them and skin as pale as mine!!
-
I love to color my hair! I don't remember what my natural shade is but it's dark.....I once got what I thought were reddish highlights put into my hair and it turned out burgandy. It looked AWFUL on me....she did my eyebrows to match...it was NOT cool! Needless to say, I didn't go back to her after that.

My natural color is a strawberry blonde that many people (including hairdressers) have told me they've tried for years to get out of a bottle and can't. Don't ask me why, but even after all that I went through a time when I colored my hair quite often. Usually just a darker shade of red, and I had burgundy once or twice. I even had one time when I had funky stuff going on with my health, and the dye only took in horizontal stripes across my head (I always did it myself, maybe that was part of the problem, too). I had orange stripes alternating with my natural color - going ACROSS my head. I think that was the last time I ever did it. I've stuck with my natural color since then!

I was born with blond hair, but as I grew up it darkened to brown. As a young teen, I put lemon juice on my hair to lighten it. Then I found this stuff called Sun In that you spray on your hair and go out in the sun. Then I bought a box of Nice N Easy. I had my hair every style in the world and every color. Straight pageboy, Afro perm,Dorothy Hammill wedge, even long and platinum blonde. The platinum blonde was awful. The peroxide burned my scalp and root touchups took all day Saturday and cost $40. About two years ago, I died my hair brown to match my roots. I will never dye my hair again.

I like coloring my hair. Something a little different each time. I was mostly blond all my life but decided a year ago to go dark. Family was a little surprised but I think it matches my skin tone better.
-
Love colouring my hair, is a good pick me up, in fact did it yesterday and also a bit cut off.
-
My beighbor lady asked me what Clairol bottle I used to get my hair the color I have. I told her none, it is natural!

I love dying my hair, and getting highlights. I get mine done at the salon, as I will *never* do it myself again, ever. :lol;

I do have pics (from when I was 15/16), but right at moment, my scanner isn't working. As soon as I get it up and running, I'll post a pic.

Oh wait, I found a blonde picture of me already saved on my hard drive, but I was about ..... 4 years old... and scared of an ostrich :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
(check out those flares..... it WAS the 70s)
-
What the heck were you doing next to the Ostrich? I would've been scared too, lol, how cute, i think we should start a thread of pics of us as kids, i think that would be cute, thanks for sharing that pic, hopefully we can see some pics of you as you are older (and blonde) ;)
-

It was at a fauna gardens/park. The ostrich is behind a fence, but he was still an awful lot bigger than me! lol.
-
i used to do mine, but i'm just too lazy to do it any more. being a red head i had to be careful. if i used a red dye everyone said "oh you did your hair, it looks nice" never mind the fact the color was an exact match to when i was in jr high. however i discovered if i used a blond dye, my hair still came out red, but it was the more muted color i was as a young adult. now i'm just gray.

Until I got to college, my hair was very blond. It was almost bleach blond when I was little. The older I got, the browner it got, so now I dye it blond. My hair is so thin, that when my roots are showing, you can see my scalp a little and I look like I've got thinning hair. I would really like to have my hair professionally cut and colored (back to my natural color), but I just can't afford it. That, and every hairdresser I've ever been to, has never known what to do with such thin hair and have always butchered it!
-
I can't afford a hairdresser either, considering how long my hair is and the fact that I colour it every 4-6 weeks. I have to do it at home.
-
I only did it once so far, and it was last month. I got blonde highlights... it looked good even though I got the wrong haircut :lol;
-
When I first started going gray, I used the "For Men Only". Now I've switched to Rogaine and don't worry about the color.
-
Oh...where do I start. I've gone back and forth to having hairdressers do it and doing it myself. I cut, color, and perm my own hair. Right now it looks great, but I've been through a few trials from both salons and my own doing.
One problem I have is using gold or warm type colors. My hair looks ashy gray. I have to stick to natural color. Now I use Loreal Preference 9 1/2 NB. It is fabulous!
I will quickly detail a few horror stories.
salon: wanted gold with brighter highlights. when they took the towel off I kind of said Oh that looks so dark. Then they blow dryed it and with the highlights it didn't look bad, in that light, without my glasses on, without looking real close in the mirror (ladies - look close before you leave!). I was wondering why the girl was rubbing so hard around the outline of my scalp/face area. Well, when I got home I could see that even on my face there was a dark color from the dye. My hair looked lifeless and muddy! I cried. I called them and told them they had to fix my hair. I had to take the day off of work! I was there for 4 hours the next day! They got it to look a bit better but it was looking orangy then. so I didn't go back there for a while.
went to a different salon for the next treatment. Ashy again. went back again. scrubbed at my hair trying to get it brighter. never went there again.
started doing it myself but decided 'I want to treat myself.' (how quickly I forget!) go back to first salon but to different girl (who had done my highlights beautifully). After the last root job that was muddy looking and leaving stains on my face again, I figured I am doing it myself. It will cost $10 not $55 and I can grab a box whenever I want to get the roots. She made me wait so long to get my roots done I finally called her up a week before my date to come in.
Now I will stick to Loreal Preference 9 1/2 NB and just do my roots (and pull through last 5 min).
