Title: PD and monthly cramps
Post by: MooseMom on October 16, 2007, 09:52:29 AM
OK, here's another question that's just occurred to me (the more I learn about PD, the more questions I have...)

Ladies, if you are having your period and are feeling crampy and/or bloaty, does being "full" with PD solution exacerbate the cramps/bloating?

Thanks.

Not that I've noticed. However, just to be sure, I would try to schedule your first week of PD for the week AFTER your period, if possible, so you're not getting used to the fullness on top of the bloating.

I have suffered with menstrual cramps for several years now and being on PD has been no better no worse for me  :thumbup; :thumbdown;

Again PD doesnt seem to make a difference but ...one thing that 'may' happen (not always) is that when you drain out, some of the blood finds its way into the fluid giving it a pink tinge. This is not always the case though , sometimes it can happen if you have been too active as well. If it should happen mention it to someone straight away just to be on the safe side. I was advised to see how pink the fluid was and if it was getting redder go to hospital. Some times i could get a couple of exchanges that where like that  but it ALWAYS cleared up in the same day and was always at that time of the month but not every month!

Thanks for that, Kickstart.  Now I know what to look for.
