When I was 4 years old I put my grandmother's car in neutral and backed down our driveway and across the street. I got brush burns all over my legs from hanging out the drivers door trying to jump out but never quite making it. This kid has me beat:
BROOMFIELD, Colo. - A hungry 6-year-old grabbed his grandmother's car keys, positioned his child seat behind the steering wheel and tried to drive himself to an Applebee's restaurant.
He didn't get far.
Unable to take the car out of reverse, the boy backed up 75 feet from her house into a transformer Tuesday, knocking out electricity and phone service to dozens of townhouses in this suburb north of Denver.
No one was injured and the boy, whose name was not released, got out of his car and told his grandmother what happened.
"He proceeded to start the car and started backing up," said Sgt. Colleen O'Connell of the Broomfield Police Department. "He went backward about 47 feet, hit the curb, then went backward another 29 feet."
Investigators couldn't figure out how the boy reached the accelerator.
No charges will be filed.
"I have five children of my own, so I know you cannot watch them every minute they're awake," said nearby resident Nancy Hollis, whose power was knocked out by the accident.

I must admit when i was 10, my mom gave me the keys to the car to get the stroller off the car and me being the dumb kid that i was :P decided to start the car and revved it up and then put it in reverse, flew back, through it in drive, hit the car in front of me and pushed it back about 5 feet before i turned the key off :banghead; To this day i dont know what the hell got into me, why i did something so stupid, i just thank God that no one got hurt and the people with the car in front of me were very understanding and didnt do anything about it (boy how times have changed huh) if that were to happen today i probably would've been sued faster than lightning :thumbdown;

Dad loves to tell a story on me. When I was about 2 or so, my Mom left me in the car one winter afternoon while she quickly ran into the store. The car was parked next to the Garage where my Dad was Parts and Service manager. A Lady came into the shop and told Dad, "there is this car out there that is just backing up out into the street and then pulling back into its parking place. Dad "flew" out of the shop, and there I was, happy as a lark, playing with the gearshirt. Putting it in reverse and then back into drive. Fortunately I didn't hit anyone or anything. :)

Susie, If my son tried that, I think the last thing we'd have to worry about is getting sued by someone else, b/c I would get locked up for murder (or child abuse, at least)! :rofl; :rofl;
