Title: My sister moved away
Post by: okarol on October 08, 2007, 06:07:26 PM
My younger sister moved to Shorewood, Wis. this week and I miss her already. She's 18 months younger than me, and we have the same quirky sense of humor so we laugh a lot when we are online or together. She's starting a new life, she wanted to live somewhere that has changes of seasons and snow (hope she didn't wish for TOO much!) She has always lived here in Calif. so I hope the change isn't too overwhelming. I pray she gets a job soon - she has friends there and that will help. In the meantime she will come back and forth to finish her divorce and sell her house. We never saw each other often, living 45 minutes apart was just enough distance that it was hard. But we spoke every day on messenger, so that won't change. It just feels kind of sad because now I can't just run over to see her.

I took this photo the night before she left.

She's very beautiful. I hope she likes it there! It gets very cold there... too cold for me,  :lol; My brother lives 4 hours from the city she moved too.. he likes it. I have visited in both winter and summer, the winter was way too cold but the sledding brought back memories of childhood. The summer was very hot, so, least she get's all the seasons! :)

She kinda sorta looks like you Okarol, :)  (and that is a good thing) ;)  What an awesome idea, move to where the seasons change, I admire her drive to get up and go, i am sure it wasnt an easy decision to make but i hope it works out for the best for her.   :cuddle;

Wow - that is so cool - I could visit you when I come see her (not sure when that will be) - wish I could see the leaves change but more likely it will be in the spring.
She does customer service so can pretty much work in any industry. She has done motorcylcle parts, cosmetics, automotive parts and glass bottles and jars - not sure what she would prefer.

How far away from your city will she be okarol? Is it an easy drive?

My family is interstate, but I can be at their place in under 4 hours. It is sad that I don't get to see them more often. I never wanted to be around them most of my life, right up until my late 20's or so. These days, especially since my sister had a baby 15 months ago (not to mention dad giving me my kidney in May), I miss them all a lot.

It's about 2,100 miles away. California to Wisconsin. My sister drove it in 3 days, but she didn't stop much. I miss her a lot.

That's hard, Karol.  It's what she wants, but that doesn't make it any easier! :grouphug;

Oh my GOODNESS.  :'( - makes South Australia to Victoria (where my family is) sound like a walk in the park.

Im sorry Karol. My sister and I lived 7 blocks apart in Brooklyn for about a year, and it was wonderful. I know how it feels to lose your buddy...
