Post by: Sunny on October 07, 2007, 06:48:37 PM: Finally, someplace to hear about kidney disease from real people. Can't believe this site lists GoodPasture's Disease, for this is the rare disease that led to my kidney disease. Six years ago, at the age of 41, I came down with pneumonia-like symptoms, had a kidney biopsy, and was diagonosed at Stanford with anti-GBM disease (GoodPasture's Disease). I was told I had a slim chance of saving what was left of my kidney function with a 6 month regiment of chemo (cytoxin) and prednisone. At that time, my daughter was 10, my son was 12 and my wonderful husband was so worried. I was willing to try anything to save myself. Luckily for me, the treatment worked and I am now left with about 30% use of my kidneys. I am six years post-treatment and doing pretty good. However, my doctors say that some day my kidneys will fail. So, it's nice to find this forum.

You have found an awesome group of people, all willing to share their stories, give support, encouragement, even tell some jokes, it's all here.
