I guess I am overly weary as a daughter of a dad on dialysis ( he's been on hemo for 2 years) He hasn't been feeling great lately. People at the center tell him it is because he may be gaining too much weight in between visits...normally he gains 1.5 kg and if he goes over 2-2.5 he starts to feel bad. I will be applying to law school in a year and a half and the thought that my dad may not be around is the worst thought I could ever have.... Just bummed.

Lataek, no one knows what the future holds for any of us. The best we can do is to deall with what we got, and look after ourselves the best we can.
If your dad can try to monitor his drinking more, it will make him feel a lot better during treatment.
Well done on wanting to apply to law school. :2thumbsup;
Your father is very lucky to have a daughter that cares so much for him. :cuddle;

thanks...I guess his center is also offering nocturnal dialysis soon-which I have read is easier on the heart.
Sometimes it just sucks...He's a great dad :)

I hope he is able to go to nocturnal, he wont be as restricted on his fluids since he will be doing it more often. Good luck in law school and our thoughts and prayers are going out to you and your dad, hope he feels better soon. :2thumbsup;

Hopefully you'll find support here for your Dad! Let us know how he does, and how you are!

Thanks-staying at parent's house this weekend and i will go to dialysis with him on Monday.

Good for you for going to dialysis with your Dad. It isn't easy to watch. Not many people go with their family member. You are being a great daughter.

Hope for the best, maybe suggest fluid restrictions, I know it sucks but it seems it will make him feel better. I know if it was me in his place I probably would not want to obey. Let him know your concerns and that you love him. We all have choices to make. We are here for you just the same. Hang in there. :grouphug;
