Title: The Fall Season...what does it mean to you?
Post by: brenda on September 29, 2007, 10:09:29 PM
I mostly, no totally, prefer the summer. But the fall is so pretty, and it's slow down time for me. The pumpkins are all out in the stores, all my favorite gourds are ready to make my Thanksgiving center piece. Been busy making Cabbage Rolls and Hamburger soup with all the harvest veggies. Next weekend is Thanksgiving here in Canada. Looking forward to Lacey's big Halloween party, Halloween is my favorite. All the cute little Trick or Treaters, and I get lot's as many as 200. Lots of Christmas stuff is out in the stores so I've been doing a little shopping. Time to pull the quad out and enjoy all the fish I spent catching all summer.

I do not like Fall or Winter.At least as far as the weather is concerned... I hate cold weather... with all my heart. Other than that, I love Thanksgiving,especially the years my birthday falls on it, and I love Halloween, plus as I stated, my birthday is in November... I love Christmas.. and I like staying inside and if I had someone to cuddle with and watch tv, I would.

Lower income. Not like it can get much lower but it always finds away. :thumbdown;

Fall is nice, except California summers usually last forever and it is hot through December,  This year we are having unusually mild Spetember weather.  it almost feels like fall. I have had a light jacket on most morning this week as I stood yard duty at 7:15 in the morning.  I am still waiting for the month long heat stroke we usually get in September.  I prefer being warm to being cold, but 108 is ridiculous.

September means the kids are back in school (booo homework) and some new shows are on TV.
I love Halloween, I always decorate the house and put a graveyard in the front yard. Our neighborhood has a parade of costumes before the trick-or-treating begins!
I like to go the the beach in November - it's usually lovely days with beautiful sunsets.

What is hamburger soup? I need the recipe.

I do like the changing colors of the leaves. Even though I love socks. I hate to put sandals away. I love watching the kids play soccer. My older daughter is a cheerleader, so football games on Friday nights are fun (if it isn't too chilly, I'm paranoid about getting sick). The holidays are great too!

I LOVE the fall!  It's my favorite time of the year.  I love the crispness in the air, the change of foliage, the colors are just so beautiful.  I love going apple & pumpkin picking.  We already went once last week and paid a nice apple pie.  I love wearing sweaters and jeans and crunching through the leaves.

The best part of fall is a trip to the Topsfield Fair.  It's the oldest fair in the US, I love getting my German Fries and Caramel Apples.  We are going today with my sister and her family.  It will be the first time going for our newly adopted son.  We are looking forward to it!!!

Plus, I love all the new fall shows and HALLOWEEN!!!!  This is my favorite time of the year!! :yahoo;

Hamburger Soup: Fried lean ground beef with onion, pepper and bayleaf. Put it in your crock pot, I add mashed potato to help thicken as well as so I can make them potassium friendly. Green beans, yellow beans, carrots, celery, (whatever veggies you like). And I use the little pasta ABC's. More pepper, more bayleaf, I like a little fresh Thyme, turn on the crock pot and forget about it for the day. I like to make a lot so I can freeze it. Easy to heat up when the kids come or when we are out camping and nobody feels like cooking. Enjoy!!

Yum! that sounds so good, Brenda! That would be so good after a day outside raking leaves! Burning leaves and soup in the kitchen. What could be better?

Brenda - adorable pic! You should frame that one for sure!!!

I love the change of seasons in general. I really love the fall, especially when we have warm days and cool nights. The trees are just starting to turn here, which is so beautiful, but at the same time I am so sad to see the leaves go!!! The trees will be bare until April or May - 3 or 4 months would be better!! I love the lush, green foliage in the summer.

Just minutes until October, which is a fun month. I have my birthday, the VEGAS MEET ( :yahoo; :bandance; :yahoo; :bandance;) and our annual Halloween party! I was just on e-bay looking for a "New Kids on the Block" t-shirt. I'm thinking of going as the "New KidNEY on the Block"!!! ;D

GREAT picture, Brenda!

I love fall. We live very close to one end of the Appalachian trail, and the colors here are going to be gorgeous in about two to four weeks. I also love the heartier food, sweaters, and staying in bed on a cool morning with the windows open and snuggled under the blankets.  :)

Here in the UK we quite often get better drier weather in September than we get in the Summer. This year it rained most of July and part of August and temperatures never got beyond about 72 degrees. September although cooler has been more pleasant. I can't really say which is my favourite season because the weather here is so skewed. I would say I find winter a bit depressing with those dark nights and mornings.

Here in Tampa, the heat finally breaks in mid October. Cool nights and warm, not hot, days. Nice!
New episodes of TV faves.
We're not sports fans, but with one kid a Gator and another a Bull, we inevitably find football to be a part of our fall.
The end of hurricane season (oh, yeah!)
The leaves on the trees changing color...WAIT!!! That doesn't happen here. But maybe we will find this somewhere close to Vegas.

Geez....we are having record high temps here in Michigan. It was 87 degrees here today, and is supposed to be in the upper 80's for the next two days. I actually miss the crisp fall weather. We'll probably go from hot to freezing...that's not all that unusual around here!!  :-\

 No fall here yet either. Tomorrow (Columbus Day) is suppose to be as hot as it was on July 4th!  What is wrong with our weather?  I want to turn off my air-conditioner, see the leaves turn and wear a sweater!

Hey fall is here and we are getting ready for winter!!  We bought a new skidoo on Tuesday. First one we have ever bought and we have been married for 23 years!!  Bought new skidoo suits and helmets as well. waiting for snow now to go for a ride. Will be a long wait I think .  Don't usually get enough snow for skidooing until at least December!!  Will post pics of us on it when we get snow!!  Hoping to have lots of fun on it this winter!!

Simmering pots of soup, homemade bread baking, mums and pumpkins on the porch, windows open and airconditioner OFF!    Our days are still in the 70's and 80's but nights are cool and the trees are just starting to turn colors.  I love fall, but I enjoy every season and it is hard to pick a favorite.

I love this time of year.  The City utilities make NO money off me.  I'm not running my AC or my Heat.  My house gets to about 74 during the day and 70 at night.  This morning it was 71.  Perfect!

We had the perfect weather last weekend.  It was sunny and crisp, perfect!  Our family along with some of Rob's family went pumpkin picking and made scarecrows.  The farm had warm apple cider donuts, mmmm, and lots of fun activities.  Then we went back to my in-laws and watched the kids play.  Perfect!

Today it is warm, high 60's and humid.  Yesterday the weather was so strange, we had swarms of lady bugs on our house, ewwww!
