Title: Venous Pressure messing up
Post by: jollor on September 20, 2007, 08:55:10 PM
Hey everyone I just wanted to ask what you thought about this. The last few times that I've been on dialysis they've had trouble running my normal 450 speed due to the venous pressure messing up. They try proping it but that doesn't always help. They usually have to lower the pump speed to keep it going. On wednesday it was fine for most of my run but then it alarmed and they had to start turning the pump speed down to get it to work. I just wanted to hear what everyone thought. I hope it's just bad needle placement and not a indicator of something else. Thanks everybody.

Get you graft or fisutula looked at. There may be a problem.

Maybe your hemoglobin is higher, so the last hour or so you blood is thicker.

Also, are you still exercising your fistula?

Mine did that till they found the right spot. Sometimes though it may have to be looked at.

I'm assuming your venous pressure is high???  260+

Get your fistula or graft looked at before it narrows so much it clots off........this if a word from experience.

Just got the 12 staples out of my arm!!   :twocents;

I don't know if it's high but on that little bar thing that shows the pressure it's always near the bottom. I think my epo is on hold right now if that helps any. An I do exercise it still or at least I try to when I think about it.

could  be  something,could  be  nothing,as  you  suggest  it  could  be  poor  placement,but  get  it  seen  to  asap,before  it all  turns  pear  shaped.
good  luck  with  it  all :2thumbsup;

Well tomorrow is doctor day so I'll be talking to my doctor about it. I noticed on Monday that the venous pressure started out okay but throughout the night as fluid was pulled off  it would keep getting higher. By the way thanks for all the help everybody.
