As I am writing this, my sister-in-law, Jill, is having a double mastectomy. She was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago. After long discussions with many doctors she decided to have a double mastectomy since her sister died 4 months ago from breast cancer. Of course, we are all worried, especially after watching Lisa die slowly over the past 3 years. Our prayer is that it has been detected early and can have a good recovery. It has been a long summer for our family.

Prayers for a quick recovery. My own sister had a benign breast lump removed. That was 15 years ago, but I remember all the worry.

Thank you all for your posts. Jill was in surgery about 5 hours and things are looking good. :thumbup; The lymph nodes look cancer free. We are all very encouraged and looking forward to an uneventful recovery and then a long, cancer free life. After losing Lisa, we all felt like this was an instant re-play and couldn't believe it was happening again. Again, thank you for your good thoughts. :grouphug;
