I got a letter from Anthem carrier saying that they are not going to be part
of the insurance offerings where I have been getting my insurance. I hate to
have to change and study all those plans. I changed about 3 years ago
and it was a very good thing but now I have to change again. Hope I can get one
pretty comparable to what I have now for about the same $$$. Changing insurance
is stressful.
-
Do you get your insurance through a employer? Medicare? Or what?
-
Uggh - the one I have is threatening to switch from BCBS to Priority Health, which covers, oh, Nothing! I'd rather pay more for the Blue Cross than be under-covered with the other.
-
My insurance I get through my deceased husband's employer.
I was allowed to continue it. The plan I used to have would have bankrupt me
by now. percentages to pay on everything. shots alone would bankrupt me.
I changed and got a better plan that I was happy with but now they are
leaving. Last year they had a comparable one but pres. co-pays were more. :(
Have to see what they offer this year. good ones I hope.

Understandable of changine insurance. :bestwishes;

I can't even begin to understand what it's like having to worry about health insurance. All the beaurocracy and form filling must grind you down.
Hope you get your self a good deal. :grouphug;

I am hoping it all works good for you OB. It is stressful changing insurance companies. We did 2 years ago, but fortunately, it was a much better plan. Transplant center says it is one of the best they have seen. Let us know how everything goes.
-
definitly goodluck to you, let us know how it all goes....thats gotta be one of the scariest things when its so hard to get anyway!! hope it goes smothly for you.
-
I know what you mean about changing. My employer switched our group insurance on February 1st, less than two months after my transplant. It majorly stressed me out, but it has all worked out. Good luck with everything....we all know at IHD how important good health insurance is.

My employer changed the insurance provider for 2007 and the biggest issue I had in selecting the new provider was, that when I tried to get the SPC for the new plan in Oct-Nov, when the enrollment period was, I was told that SPCs will not be available before later on the following year. So how can you select the new plan, when you don't even know what it is going to cover... ???
Finally after calling my employer's benefit center and new insurance provider I was told that the plan should be same, only the administrator will be changed from BCBS to United Healthcare.
Anyway lot of extra stress temporarily when I was just approved for the waiting list and all insurance approvals were done as well...

I have the same insurance but Affinity health group no longer accepts my insurance so I need to look for another Doctor that excepts Arrise health plan. My Neph accepts it and I guess that's the important thing.
Good Luck OB. :cuddle;
