Hello to all,
So sorry I have not posted for a while. Maybe some of you will recall awhile back I said my hubby
Les was going in to get his fistula, well it did not take and now two fistula tries later, we are
looking at a graft next. I am very concerned about the graft, that it will work as I have read about
"no access" He does have a perma cath and thank God no trouble with it, it did need to be replaced
about a month ago. His numbers are very good, and we are transplant listed at two hospitals, one
in Jersey and the other in Phila.
The one good think that did happen was a weeklong visit from daughter and 2 grandsons. It did
alot for our morale.
I hope all of you wonderful people are feeling ok, lots of best wishes to all,
Anne, hubby Les from NJ

Anne, I am so sorry to hear about those fistulas, darn it!!! I'm glad you had your family visiting, I bet that was fun!!
Tell Les, hang in there!! :grouphug;

I hope the graft goes well, and glad you and Les had time to visit with family. A little distraction can be good for the heart.

Hi,
Thanks, guys. Please all keep their fingers crossed that the graft will be OK, he is still
skittish about going back in to get it done, but I think early next week will be talking to the
surgeon.
Again, sending all prayers and good wishes.

I had a permcath that worked perfectly from December, 1996 until August, 2005, when I got a transplant, so don't assume that even if you have no options left but a permcath you are anywhere close to having to discontinue dialysis because of lack of access!

Best of luck! Thank you for the update! :cuddle;

The graft in the lower arm will often enlarge the vein in the upper arm and make it suitable for an upper arm natural A/V fistula years later when the graft finally fails. As long as everyone is VERY careful with the permacath it may last for years as well. So don't give up on someday getting a good working fistula.

Wishing the best for you both. :grouphug;

Man, I hate to hear that! I'll be saying some prayers for your family! Hope that everything goes well for you!
