Best of luck. I just had mine removed and after a year with one it felt good to take a normal shower. Good Luck. Boxman

So, how did it go?  Do the needles scare you?  Do you use the numbing shots or cream?

If you say it is no problem I'll slap you!   :cuddle;

I got back from my second fistulagram today.  They had to re-balloon one area.  I heard while the Dr. was doing it that he used an "8", instead of a "6", whatever that means (the size of theballoon??).  (Both of my procedures have been nearly painless.  The first had about 2 seconds of pain when he ballooned one are, and today's had about 3 seconds of 'sting' when he started the wire in).  I can handle that much pain for getting out work for 1 whole day!  <evil grin>

Anyway, he said that the Center should start using my Fistula tomorrow (tonight) during my treatment.  They will establish the Button-holes for me then after they are established I'll switch back to training for Home Hemo!  The GREAT news, however, is if all goes well, I get this Damn thing out of my chest in about 3 weeks!  Look out Shower and  party, here I come!!!!! :wine;

Karen, hope you forgive me for jumping on your thread here, but it seemed the perfect place to add in my good news.  :)

Great news Karen!!! The fistula really is the best form of access and hopefully you will have no problems - specially as it strengthens and toughens up... heck some days I don't even feel the needles go in (and the nurses complain that my skin is so tough! LOL)...

I'm sure it will be great to get that cath out!!!   :cuddle;
