The donor coordinator called my hubby this morning, so she didn't forget to call, just didn't have time yesterday.. :oops; and told him his results were as follows:
T-cell at 304
B-cell at 418
still lower than mine but still higher than they like, however not impossible at this time. So, when my sister gets her results on the 21st, we will know who will be it--it's probably going to be between my hubby and my sister because if her numbers are higher than mine, it's still going to be my hubby. If her numbers are lower than mine and hubby's then it will be her. Bummer, I wanted it to be me. I guess I have a lot of nursemaiding to do in the new year!

At least there are some choices here.
Best wishes to you, your Mom and the family.

That is true. I shouldn't look at it in any way negatively. I just wanted to be the one and while I'm so grateful that my hubby wants to do this and my sister might be able to as well, I just felt compelled to do this. When my mom told me last year that she might need a transplant in the future, I did not hesitiate. She never asked any of us to consider it, we just put our heads together and did this. I am very active in the process, making calls and finding out where we can go and what to do next. I have been online for a year reading up on donation and recovery. Just recently did I start researching dialysis because even though she isn't on it yet, it is possible she will be very soon. This is just such a very draining experience for all of us and I just want it to be over but with a happy ending. On a lighter note, my mom did tell my hubby that this in no way has any influence on his being her favorite son in law, as he has always been...even though one of my sisters has been married twice and my other sister is single, so....the next son in law has a lot to live up to!

Thanks! I think we turned out pretty good considering our parents are crazy. Good crazy, though. Not lock you in the basement crazy. But yeah, my brother and other sister are A and still want to be considered. I don't think we'd consider an ABO incompatible transplant because it is much riskier. My mom is so proud of us but she shouldn't be, we are only human and would do this for any of our friends (not relatives, as they are all lock you in the basement crazy but that's a whoooooooooole other story!)....You are a very sweet person and I'm sure your mom is, too!
