I found out this summer that I had several holes in both retinas....not a good thing because holes can tear, and fluid can get in and cause the retina to detach which can lead to blindness. Fortunately, I got into a retina specialist right away and had laser treatment done on both eyes to close the holes. The last one was done about 6 weeks ago, and the "floaters" are finally at a minimum, but I still get occasional flashes. I think my eyesight overall is worse, but I still don't need anything stronger than reading glasses. I have no idea if my "weak eyes" can be attributed to my kidney disease or not.

Retinopathy, complicated by encroaching cataracts.  The retinopathy is stabilized right now, thankfully, and I have good vision with my glasses on, at least.

When my kidney problems first became evident, my blood pressure was sky high.  They gave me a huge batch of bp meds, and it dropped so fast that the fluid balance in my eyes went completely out of whack.  I was blind for over a month while the balance slowly restored itself.  I was incredibly light sensitive and wore sunglasses in even the slightest light.  All I could see was vague shadows moving.  It was a loooooonnnnng month!

I'm not blind... but I have bad eyes. I have scars on my eyes and on my right eye I have a scar on the line of vision, so my vision is blurry, no eye glasses can fix that, only a cornea transplant, which they don't want to do until my dry eyes is under control, which i doubt will ever happen. Blah... pisses me off. lol.

I did go blind twice though when i was 14-15. When my blood pressure was out of control and sky high, I have seziures when this happens, and the sezire caused me to go blind the first time for a few days... however, I acted as though I was blind my whole life, and like nothing was wrong.. my parents were freaking out. I do not remember this, thankfully. the second time this happened I went blind for a week or so, and I freaked out so bad they had to restrain me with arm restrains in my hospital bed and leg restraints... and bsically give me IV meds to calm me and relax me and knock me out until my site returned. Again, I do not remember this, thankfully.

i have retinopathy, i think it was caused by high blood pressure cause i only noticed it after i almost had a stroke about a year back. i wound up losing central vision in my left eye so ican see out of it but theres this vortex that distorts everything in the middle, i also have some floaters in both eyes, the glasses help a bit but my vision is still pretty poor during the day. funny thing is i dont need the glasses at night my vision is much sharper then

I am legally blind in one eye and that is partly why I have social security disability. My eye problems are complications from diabetes. I have diabetic retinopathy, have glaucoma, a cataract removed, and a cataract growing in my so called good eye. Also had a detached retina, vitrectomies, and have had laser treatments for the blood vessels growing in the back of my eye (prior to having my transplant).

So any questions, ask away. Need help finding low vision products from software for PC o low vision products?
