Hello There...My name is Emma. I am 37 years old and live in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I am married and have two children: Alister is 4 and Amelea is 2. I own and operate a roofing company. It is really great to find this website. I start PD at the end of September. I am scared to death...no pun intended. I look forward to chatting with you all and feel a little better knowing there are others that are surviving this...Emma

I can relate to being scared to death. I had my PD catheter placed two weeks ago so now I am just waiting to find out when I will start training.

Hi Emma
Welcome to the IHD Family!
I've been on PD about 16 months and I remember how scared I felt.
You'll find lots of helpful info here and support and new friends to help you through.

Emma! It's natural to be scared, heck, I cried for several days after my neph told me I was close to dialysis...I thought the world had come to an end!!! It does get better. Well, easier to handle, I should say. PLEASE do ask questions, though. Heck, feel free to rant! :welcomesign;

Howdy there EMMA,
Welcome to ihatedialysis.com from one roofer to another. Actually I don't do many roofs anymore but I used to be the third largest roofing company about 5 years ago in my area.
I'm glad you found us and I hope you find out all you need to know about PD here. We are like family here and once you join our family...there is no way out.
I hope you enjoy your stay and invite you to post often and ask questions if you have them.

Welcome to our community! Sorry for the late welcome, but I have moved and all kinds of stuff is happening. Welcome from one who shares a Queen with you, as a member of the British Commonwealth!
I consider everyone who is facing this renal challenge and who comes upon this website as a very fortunate person. I know I bless the day that I found it just before I started dialysis. I was so prepared because of this site. So please take advantage of all it has to offer. We have become a genuine family here, as you are going to find out. Here is a group hug from all of us. :grouphug;
