I've been using the cycler for about 6 months and I have been pretty happy with it. The only problem has been when I have gone on trips. Both times I had suppies for CAPD (4 exchanges a day) sent to my destination. I would like to travel with the cycler but I am worried about being able to find an appropriate set up table at a hotel or friends home. Has this been a problem for anyone? :pics;

Hi Bette, I have traveled several times with my cycler, stayed with family and in a hotel, i didnt have a problem with either, a card table worked just fine and/or the top of a dresser (just make sure you spray it down with your bleach cleaning solution). But i think you will find it to be easier than CAPD, good luck and keep us posted. :2thumbsup;

I used to carry a tv tray table which is just thr right size to hold the cycler, then never had to worry about a table in the room.

Well when you say it like that, I assume you use Baxter since it needs a table or stand... I dunno what to say b/c I used Fresenius, my machine was on a pole like thing.. and when I traveled, my machine stayed at home b/c I called Fresenius ahead of time and they send a machine exactly like the one at home to wherever your staying and then they pick it up when your done.. So I dunno if Baxter does that, or not.. and if they send tables for it to sit on or not... Hmm? :)

Angela, when the machine is sent to where you're staying, do they get in touch with your unit and pre-program your prescription, or do you do that once you get there? We're going on vacation in September and were just going to carry my cycler with us since we're driving, but if Fresenius will deliver one there for me....

I had to program it myself... but that only takes a few minutes. Enjoy yur trip! :)

I've traveled with mine - but it is a Fresinius machine. I just take it apart and take it with me. Because I was only visiting my daughter for a few days it was not a problem. But like someone else noted Fresinius will deliver a machine to wherever you are going.
Happy trails

I've done it, I have Fresenius, if you're driving, it's quite possible. I went from Indy to South Carolina for a couple of days last year. We just took the cycler, packed it in a suitcase, and separated out the pole it stands on, and brought the bags in their boxes. I also brought manuals for the drive itself. Those I would do IN the car, while riding.

Ive done it with a Baxter machine. The airport security at DFW (Dallas/Ft Worth) seemed to know what it was. I traveled to Columbus, Ohio and it took them awhile to check it out and make sure its not a bomb. Almost made me miss my flight, but Baxter was very good and sending the solution and anything I needed to Dublin, Ohio where I was going. It was pretty simple.

I use a Fresenius cycler and I've traveled a lot with it. I've taken it and my supplies in the car but my favorite way is to have Fresenius ship the machine and supplies directly to my destination. Most hotels have been really great and we often arrive to find everything already delivered to our room. The only exception was when we stayed at a Westin timeshare unit in Rancho Mirage, Ca last September. After arriving we had to call to have the supplies delivered to our condo and after they did that, they left an invoice for $90. They were charging us $10 per box delivered and my husband has been the one who carried the boxes from the ground level up to our 2nd floor unit because there wasn't an elevator! Needless to say we went to the manager to "discuss" the charge and it was removed from the bill. We have never encountered any thing like that before or since but I can tell you, it will sure make me rethink future stays at a Westin hotel!!
