After living with CKD for a few years i noticed that not alot of people knew what it was or the difficulties it presented. i also noticed that there were other diseases that got media attention and i hardly saw any for CKD.
So i went on Oprah's website and i wrote my dialysis story. I'm still waiting for some sort of reply, but anyway i wanna encourage anyone who reads this to go on the website and send in their stories too.Maybe if enough people do it we could get an oprah show on CKD. I just thought it would be a cool thing to do

i seem to remember in other threads somewhere that someone mentioned they had written oprah. they too never got a response. i guess 40,000 people in the states alone with some form of kidney disease just isn't important enough. but is sure is a good idea, maybe we can change things.

In 2002 there were an estimated 920,000 dialysis patients worldwide growing by around 7%-9% per year.* Approximately 300,000 are in the US.
Those are just the dialysis patients. The number of patients with renal disease is huge, yet many people still know very little about it.
My sister wrote to Oprah about Jenna's story. Never got a response, but I think if a lot of people write it might get some attention.

I admit i wrote Oprah (a couple of times).. I poured my heart out, i wanted to acknowledge my donor and the beautiful thing it was he was doing and wanted to see if we could get other people interested in donating but i guess just took it as not interesting enough, i think i'd have a better shot with Ellen ;) ;) (in the works) :P

I'd never considered ellen, i'll write her too if you think it might help. I've got loads and loads of spare time so i like doing this kind of thing.
