Title: Pleasant Surprises
Post by: LightLizard on July 15, 2007, 07:44:24 PM
yesterday, both of my young daughters decided to visit me, more or less, on the spur of the moment.
my wife talked me into going to the park, all of us, with a couple of drums and a guitar, just to go out into the day. my youngest has been learning guitar from me, the older one has learned some drumming from me and is an exemplary belly dancer, too.
we sat in the park and played some music, switching instruments as the mood moved us.
it felt so good, so pure, so normal.
some days are truly a blessing! some days remind us what the struggle is really all about.

hi ken, no, my inconsistent energy level doesn't allow for that kind of commitment, anymore.
that's what makes the special moments so valuable, now, i suppose.

Nothing better to overcome the blues, than a visit from your children.  :)

I think I know what you mean.  Now and then nothing will even have to happen except for taking a breath (usually under a blue sky, but not always) and I feel a slightly intense sensation of pure comfort and pleasure with a smile made of graciousness.

Savor moments like those. It's what makes the other days so bearable at times. I'm so glad you were able to have such a good day with your family. I count moments like those as my most precious memories.  Now I have to see your website!

my sister called last week to surprise me with the news that she and her daughter (my only neice) are coming out to visit me from Toronto, at the end of the month!
they were going to go to cuba, but my neice said she'd rather come visit me!
she's never seen the rockies or the pacific ocean, either, so it should be a great visit, all around. i haven't seen them since '98, when i last went to toronto.
i've been wanting to go there again, but since i've been living on disability, finances have been rather lacking for that kind of thing.

yEEEhhAAaAAA!
