Title: sad news
Post by: Ohio Buckeye on July 12, 2007, 06:37:46 PM
I am stunned!  My best longtime, lifetime friend just left and said she
is seeing a divorce lawyer in the morning.  Her and her husband's marriage
of 42 years is over.  I can't believe it and am so shocked and feel so bad for
them and the family.  Life is just absolutelyy unbelievable sometimes.

Thanks.
It is a hard thing to see your best friend in pain and hurting.

The best thing you can do is support them and be there to listen, which i am sure you will.

To be married that long and give up is sad. Of course i don't know why so it's hard to really say anything.

How sad for your friend. I can't imagine after being married that long that she's going into this without thinking long and hard. Be there for her, she'll need it.

Yes, I'll be there for her.
It is usually the opposite, she is having to see me thru a difficult time.
I feel so bad about it.  We have vacationed, camped with them and been friends
forever.

My friend is hurting so.
I am worried about her.  She is seeing a counselor to help her deal with it.
It's been 5 wks. now since he left.
She has told me that 3 times she had pills in her hands to take and
one time she just felt like driving off the bridge.
I tell her that her sons need her, her grandson loves and needs her, (esp. since papa is
not calling or seeing him) and to lean on the Lord and trust Him to be her strength.
She said there is no pill for this pain she has.  Her face looks as if she has cried a lot.
I wish I could do more.  I don't understand how a man walks out of his marriage
for someone else and leaves the family trying to piece their life back together again
after 42 yrs.  To me this feels much like a death.  So sad.

unfortunatly we seem to hear about these story's all the time. To many people walking out of a marriage after SO many years... it does not seem fair, after 40 years??? i don't get it.

I hope your friend gets through this okay.
