Friday and Saturday Rate is $82.00 per night plus $8.80 Tax

If you want to spend money you can go to Costco today. You'll go there to buy 2 or 3 inexpensive items and leave an hour later wondering where the $150 went. Have fun!

true, but costco doesn't get me a very enjoyable weekend with you all. and shopping isn't anywhere as much fun as traveling, unless you're talking about my sister who gives new meaning to the term "shop til you drop"

Has anyone made their reservations yet? Post here when you do so I get an idea of how many rooms we are using. I agreed to 20. I have rented 2 rooms, in case we need an extra room.

I thought we all wanted to stay as a group in the same place. No-one is bound to that, but I thought that was what everyone wanted. Personally I prefer the strip but went with Fremont street because of the lower cost.

I'll look into a package with air, car (so I can drive Susie), and hotel because they are often cheaper than booking separately. As we get closer to October I plan to firm that all up so it could be downtown, or the strip, or elsewhere.
Also I'm not sure if it is just me or the whole family going so better to wait to make firm plans.

Okay, I'm a big dork when it comes to these website thingies. Where is the information on Grand Canyon. Can someone send a link? I think I read about it someplace but cannot navigate my way back to where I saw it.
I have not yet made reservations yet as all of my traveling buddies are otherwise occupied. Vietman/Taiwan, another to Australia and yet another to London. Can you believe that??
Anyway, I'm desperately seeking someone who is close enough to me to put up with my snoring!
Oh, I guess I'd better ask the transplant team to make sure Vegas is okay this close to transplant. I just feel so normal already!

I'll be down friday after dialysis. Just don't know what time yet. We are staying till Monday. I think Susie (Goofynina) and her hubby will be down Friday also.

Thanks, tubes. That helped alot. Your "gramms" is coming and I am bringing my 24 yr old daughter! This should be a fun group! Beth is a great traveling buddy and she loves Vegas. Her best friend was in Cirque for awhile before moving to LA and joining the ballet there. I am ramblling---thanks for steering me to the right thread!

i hate to do this but i'm not going to be able to come. and i was so looking forward to it. things have just transpired over the last couple of months to make it not financially feasible to come. the topper was last Thursday while taking my daughter to work we got rear ended. after spending 4 hours in the er, april and i are ok but things we will have to pay up front and wait for reimbursement from the guys insurance company means i don't have the money for the trip. i'm sure everyone will have a grand time and i will be thinking of you.

That means I have to lose 50 pounds, dye my gray hair, get some stylish outfits----sorry, too tired to even begin changing anything :rofl; ! My daughter, Beth, who is coming with me says she is very proud of me because this is not something I would usually do. But, that is how important IHD is to me-- and I am learning to live more in the moment. Susie, so happy you will be there. I couldn't imagine it being a party without you. I am in a much better mood since I made the reservation. Something to look forward to!!!

I think everyone's personality changes in LV.
You go there tired and there is something energizing about
that place. You get energized and just keep going and going,
like energizer bunny. The lights, sounds, smells, etc. just
set one in motion. lol.
I'd still like to go but I sort of have to wait to see how my foot
is closer to the time. I feel like I'm always living on the edge where
it is concerned. If I'd get to come, I'd bring my oldest son or a
real good friend.

I had planned / hoped to be with everyone but my wife and I leave for 2 weeks vacation in Punta Cana , Dominican Republic on Oct 13. I trust that there will be lots of pictures and stories shared and hopfully there will be another one next year !!! Razman - have a great time in Punta Cana...my husband and I vacationed there in '03 and had a great time. Just be sure to stick with the foods you are familiar with, and use bottled water even for brushing your teeth. We did fine, but I know a few people who got very sick there - even one woman who had to be hospitalized for two weeks when she returned to the US because she had such a bad bacterial infection.

I finally made a room reservation at El Cortez - arriving Friday and leaving Monday. :2thumbsup;
FYI: Not sure how they book the rooms but here's a suggestion: I noticed some rooms have stairs only, no elevator, so double check that you have access to a room with an elevator (plus they have handicap rooms) if you've got limited mobility or have lots of PD supplies to carry. :twocents;
Can you believe that the day we meet - October 13 -- is my one year anniversary of the day I joined IHD!!?? And it's close to Goofynina's birthday too! :bandance; Party!!! :bandance;
