It 90 degrees and humid in Chicago today and I can't take it. I am literally dripping sweat. I have never been so miserable in the heat in my life! My only consolation is that I can drink a bit more since I am sweating so much. I just feel gross. (OK I feel better, thanks for letting me rant ;))

Girlfriend, you are singing my song, I am a verrry miserable summer person (unless i am in an air conditioned building or a pool) :P We just got our air conditioning fixed, thank God :bow; and my sister lives 30 minutes away and she has a pool. I have already let all of our friends and family know that i will not be attending any outdoor BBQ's or parties due to the fact that my tolerance for this heat is at an all time low and i get extremely moody and irritable (ok down right BITCHY) >:D :p if i am uncomfortable, but come fall and winter, i am all theirs ;) ;)

Our weather is really mild here. There are only a few days a year that get over 90, but my tolerance for heat has totally changed. We just installed air conditioning and while I need it and like it, the dog is the one who is really happy about it. Every time it kicks on, he runs over and sits by the vent. :D

I love the warm weather the humidity sucks but I will take 80-90 degrees with low humidity all day every day...boxman55

Humid and sticky here, too. The house was closed up all day, since I had dialysis, and it looked too much like rain to leave the windows open. I came home and rushed around opening windows, turning on fans, and closing up the bedroom so I could turn on the AC in there. My cat was a limp puddle of fur in the living room during all this. I finally slowed down enough to fuss over her a bit, and told her I was sorry she was so warm, but I couldn't do anything about it unless she wanted to go sleep in the bedroom.
She followed me down the hall a few minutes later and begged to get into the bedroom. Makes me wonder just how much she really understands. . . ;D

We have had some hot days too. Because i am hairy i get hot real quick. With the bp meds i take i feel like i am going to pass out. My brother has a pool i can go to. The water feels great until i get out and feel the ungodly heat. It feels like Africa out there!

Miserable working outside in this heat.

It is very hot here, the first day of what the weather people feel will be a heatwave. I have had the A/C on since yesterday and although I would rather have it on than deal with the humidity, I can't stand it. I hate when the house is all closed up with no fresh air coming in. Although, like many of you, my dogs are in A/C heaven! They are panting heavily when I walk them and they praticially lunge toward the door to go in.
Oddly though, Rob used to sweat like there was no tomorrow before his kidneys failed. He would sweat in the winter too and he's not an overly large guy. Now he sweats normally. We thought it was kidney related, but that doesn't seem to be the case with everyone. He is hoping his normal sweating will continue once he has a transplant.

I love the heat! Supposed to be 34c here tomorrow. I wait for 8 months a year for this. Too much snow for too long to complain about the heat.

I hate the cold too! I love the warm weather, just not the humidity. Humidity and my hair are complete enemies :D. I never get used to the cold and snow, it totally sucks!

Here in the UK its cold , wintery and very wet ! Yes this is our summer! We have had a lot of bad floods in some parts , not near me though. I can honestly say i love the cold , the colder the better! Its the only time i get to sleep better , the heat at night drives me mad.

Well, I live in permanent summer here in the Caribbean, but this time of the year the heat really steps up. I do not like sweating, which I do profusely. I was considering airconditioning my apartment, but I am so scared of the electricity bill!
I just ordered a fan from WorldStart to which you add water and it helps in the cooling of the room. Can't wait to get it!

I'm in an area of the States that has humidity, that reaches icky levels. I do not like humidity. Heat, I like, heck I have the heater on right now, and it's air conditioned!! I just don't tolerate humidity very well I am afraid.
-
I say give me cooler weather around the high 70's. 90's + is too hot for me.
-
i would be perfectly happy if it never got hotter than 75 and colder than 40. luckily colorado doesn't have much humidity.

High 70's in Britain is heatwave conditions. Yesterday it was only 13 degrees Celsius. They say we in Britain are obsessed with the weather because we're always talking about it. I think its because it is so absolutely unpredicable.
We don't seem to get definate seasons any more. A mild day in February can be warmer than a cold day in July but there has been some kind of pattern in the intervals of years between warm summers and wet ones.
Since 1948 we have had an exceptionally warm and dry summer every 7th year, but then strangely in 2004 (the 7th year) it did not happen in fact it was cold and wet all summer. Was the 7 year cycle just coincidence or was 2004 indicative of climate change.
I wonder, any weather experts on the site?
-
I believe the climate is changing. This year, we had a warm winter, no snow... until Feb, and then it warmed up again, and we got one last week of snow in APRIL... wtf.... :urcrazy;

Greetings from sunny (and hot and humid) Tampa, Florida!!! We use ac almost year 'round. What really gets me is those "winter" days when it is cold enough over night to need heat and then by early afternoon it has warmed up to the point where you need ac. The houses are not well insulated here.
It is not winter now. The high today was 90 and the overnight low will be 75. The humidity is 80%. We spend a lot of time indoors or in the car, except for in the evening when the temperature is more comfortable. Swimming? No, the water temp (Gulf of Mexico) is approaching the upper 80's which ceases to be refreshing.

Alene, I'm your neighbor slightly to the north, in Jacksonville. We run the AC about 10 out of 12 months, and the humidity is so exhausting. I hate the heat.

We got close last night (I-75N to I-10W) on our way to New Orleans. We're in Tallahassee now ready to continue west on I-10 through the swamps and bayous. I think they're listed in the dictionary under "heat and humidity" :)
Bolta, 65 F and dry ... ooh, ahhh!

San Diego has been in the 80s all week. Nice sunny weather.
