I am a 27 year old female from NE Wisconsin.  I am married and have 3 beautiful children.  My husband and I own a real estate appraisal company and I am a polymer clay artist/jewelry designer.  I set up a booth at art & craft shows.
My grandfather was very sick and needed dialysis about 9 months ago. He never ended up doing dialysis.  My mom donated a kidney to him.  A few months later I just learned that my dear friend and neighbor had to start dialysis right away.  She also needs a kidney.
I found this website looking for ways to help her deal with the dialysis.  She is computer illiterate.

Welcome to our community!  How great of you to be so concerned about your friend to search concerning dialysis.  You have come to the right place.  There is much here to help you understand and to help her.  There is lots to read.  And you can also ask questions.  That is how I was tremendously helped when I first came here as i was preparing for dialysis in Sept '05.  Where your grandfather is concerned, we also have a transplant section.   So keep reading.  Please, also let us know how your grandfather and your friend are doing.  Looking forward to hearing more from you, and wishing your friend the best.
