Hi Dan,
Thank you for sharing your blog. It's an amazing story. I am so sorry the kidney failed.
The one thing that comes through is the obvious love and devotion you have from your wife and children. That is a gift like nothing else in the world!
Your comment back in Aug. 2006 during a plasmapheresis treatment says it all "I realized that the tragedy of illness was not in being sick; the true tragedy would be in having no one who cared and loved you."
Best of luck to you!

And people have the NERVE to ask me why I made the decision to donate.
Makes me want to scream, "EDUCATE YOURSELVES PEOPLE!" :rant;
Although, I'm embarrassed to admit that before I learned about this awful disease, I thought that dialysis patients just sat in a chair for a few hours a week, reading a magazine while a machine removed the toxins from their bodies. Don't ask me how I imagined the machines did THAT! I never allowed myself to think that far. Now I know why.
Dan, I read EVERY word of your blog. You are one SUPERHUMAN being. I have no doubt that if I had been faced with 1/10th of what you've been through, I would have been a hysterical, screaming, self-absorbed BITCH! :oops;
My thoughts are with you, your wife and family and your wonderful friends that have been by your side. Thanks for sharing your story.

:thumbup; I wasn't able to read it in it's entirety yet, but it is an incredible log of events.
