I'm adding purple bags to my PD treatments soon. Does anyone have any advice or experience to share with me?

Hey, Whamo!
My hubby started the Extraneal (purple) bags last summer, so I have a few thoughts:
1. He had issues with carrying fluid around all day in his belly: It would slosh about and sometimes trigger instant, urgent nausea (especially if he bent over). The more fluid, the more this tended to happen. Eventually, we got used to keeping an empty trash container handy - just in case - and he got better at moving less abruptly.
2. His phosphorus levels went down with the day dwell - yea! The nurses said that the "larger molecules like phosphorus" can be removed with a longer dwell time.
3. He has been unable to get his protein levels to stabilize ever since starting the day dwell (I just posted about that in this forum). This is an ongoing issue for us.
4. His KT/V got better.
That's all I can think of right now... Hope that helps :)
