Title: Hair removal...
Post by: UkrainianTracksuit on July 13, 2019, 07:04:37 AM
Yep, another vapid question from yours truly! Laugh away and roll your eyes!

Do any of you have insight into what is the best hair removal for post-transplant patients? I used to get laser down prior to transplant. It slowed it down significantly but I still required "touch up" treatments. Laser is now out of the question because of medications and consequent skin cancer concerns.

So, I moved on to waxing. I got everything waxed but mainly focused on the ladybits. This worked for awhile until recently, due to the small breaks in the skin through the process, I got a skin infection. It is becoming a pain to treat and it is uncomfortable.

I asked the dermatologist covering my skin infection about electrolysis. He said if often leads to the same issues: breaks in the skin and scabs and that laser is actually the safer alternative. Which brings me back to square one.... sigh.

There is shaving but I mean, for the parts I'm concerned about, not ideal. I can shave the other parts but damn if I will shave that. Have I exhausted my options or does anyone have another avenue?

Lately, I am getting so frustrated with everything.... transplant is super/great/closest way to an average life, but you're still not normal and able to do common things.

Gee, U/T, I guess I wasn't paying attention. I always thought you were a guy, you know, kinda like those Ukranian guys wearing track suits down at the park drinking wine from a paper bag? Perhaps your moniker lead me astray...

Sorry if I ruined your illusion, but you gave me a laugh.  :rofl; But alas, yes, I am a woman (at least I think so, can never be so sure these days) but I know fully well of the men you speak. Perhaps this video will gave you a laugh though it is translated poorly (it's voda, not vodka, so water.) I do have my tracksuit days, that's for sure. It's part of the "Eastern European starter pack" I imagine.

Yes! I'm using one for other parts if the body but just not in the private area, as it says not to use. Not sure if there are any that do focus on that area...??
