Been doing Hemodialysis since June 2017... It sucks. Took me a long time to finally get into a PD program lots of stories to tell on that journey. Been doing PD since July of this year..... it sucks. Because I have no social support for post operative care I cannot be considered for a transplant. What else could I say. I HATE DIALYSIS.
If anyone has any questions I a full of experiences here....
Thanks
Ken

I empathize. I have also been told not to bother getting on the list because I, too, have no available network to help me recover from TX.That sucks.

Welcome to IHD.
A number of members have tried both PD and HD. Depending on individual tastes and lifestyle either system can work near equally well. It is all in how you can make it 'fit' to you.
BOTH systems do require a certain amount of 'adjustment' in your behavior, like diet and fluid control. PD is far more lenient concerning diet and fluids than the strict limitations I force on myself with HD.
Neither method is perfect, but both do allow us to keep on living and still have some enjoyment, quality of life.
It is pretty much what you make of it, depending on other medical issues.
Tx is not an option for many of us with 'other' issues.

Hello Mr Ken, welcome to the site.
I am grateful for your post as it has giving me something to think about. When/if I get the opportunity to go on the list I guess I will have to make sure I have a support network, even if I have to bribe people to be my support network.
