Hey. So I just got back from an Aaron Lewis concert and have nobody to tell about it right now as it’s too late. So I’m telling u fine folks on here. Im still buzzing from it; i went by myself as nobody else really wanted to go, and I ended up having a really fun time. Oh-and the hotel I’m staying at shuttled me to the casino in a LIMO! I am living large here. Haha. That was an unexpected surprise that just made getting there extra fun.
And I got an awesome seat right in the 4th row- so cool. He even sang one of fav songs ever! He is the lead singer of rock/metal band Staind turned country singer. I’m not really into county music but I love his voice- it’s amazing. And In the sencond half of the concert he played some old staind songs and covers which was great.
Oh, and after the concert I was following people thru a side exit bc it wasn’t crowded- apparently it was only for ppl with backstage passes! I almost made it thru too- I was almost on the other side of the door when a guard stopped to ask me if I had a lanyard to go back there. How cool would that have been if I had actually successfully snuck in accidentally! Lol
Anyway this was just stupid fun listening to one of my favorite singers. And I didn’t even have a beer, which I thought would be a bummer but was really okay. I did get totally lost in the casino after the concert trying to find the front lobby where the pickup was, though. That was the only time not having somebody with me really sucked. Ah well.
But it was a good day. I used to travel and go on road trips alone a lot when healthy, so it felt good to be having a mini adventure like this- I felt more like the old me. I have decided I need more music in my life so this is going to be my summer of concerts- I have seen 2 already- Aaron Lewis and Depeche Mode, and got BNL tix for my best friends bday at the end of June. I suppose having an expiration date makes you live more in the moment and not take shiit for granted, so I guess that is sort of a silver lining to this whole kidney failing thing... idk. Ayway I hope u all have a good nite.

Glad you enjoyed the concert.
Sorry but can I just hijack your thread for three sentences and say: Those of you who post things along the lines of "I can't do ..... because having a {knackered kidney/being on dialysis/worrying about my transplant} stops me", please read Naynay99's post carefully. Because YES YOU CAN, if Naynay99 can do this then you can do what you claim not to be able to do, give it a try, and stop living like you are already dead. Naynay99 has proved that a pesky kidney problem need not stop you enjoying life.

I always did like Staind! I'm glad you had such a good time. I'm green with envy!

Paul- hijack away. Good point on not letting things stop u from doing what u love. Though I am far from an example of what to do. I am usually the precautionary tale of what not to do in various situations!
But it was a fun concert. I hadn’t ever gone to a concert by myself before. It was totally fine, idk why I missed out on some great bands when younger just bc I didn’t have anybody who shared my musical tastes. Ah well.
Asron did not turn me on to country music tho- the fans were a bit too rah rah about country and guns for my taste, and at one point I sort of felt like I was at an NRA rally or something!
Anyway I forgot how much I enjoy just hopping in the car and driving somewhere just bc I can. That freedom is what keeps me following this stupid diet in hopes of staving off dialysis for a little while longer.
Anyway thanks for letting me share my random weekend adventures with u all. Take it easy everyone.
