My name is Rick. I am starting my 2nd day of training on PD. 71, active and hope to continue to be active. No other issues besides kidneys are gone to less than 5% . After reading several posts I feel fortunate. Glad to be hear.

Hi Rick!
Welcome to IHD! We are glad to have you.
I did well the 3 1/2 years I was on PD until I screwed up. I must not have been careful enough one night setting up, must have 'touched' a fitting while making bag connections. Ended up with an infection from Hell that caused the removal of my PD Cath.
ALWAYS stay very careful and keep your hands Religiously clean. Never hurry, take your time and make double sure that no connector touches anything.
PD worked great. I had NO fluid of food restrictions. In fact, my Nurse kept telling me to eat MORE Potassium as PD removed so much I needed to take a supplement daily.
Take Care, post often.

Welcome to the group. Glad to hear that your main issue is the kidneys. It has to be much easier to make the dialysis transition without a host of other concerns.
