Hi, here's my story. Six years ago I was diagnosed with Cancer and went through standard treatment, surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. During the third round of chemo, my kidneys suffered Cysplatin toxcicity. My Kidneys were severely damaged due to the chemo, but we were able to keep them working at a minimum for a couple of years. About a year ago, my kidneys finally gave out and I have now been on dialysis for a year. The past six years have been challenging, but I try to concentrate on looking forward. Glad to have found this site.

Welcome to IHD!
Sucks how you got here, but then again, have to admit I'm glad the chemo worked so that you ARE here.
Life throws us a lot of 'curves'. We can only deal with them as they happen.
You are doing well.
Post as you need, we will be here for you.
Take Care,

:welcomesign; Welcome, dtserna! Glad you found the site and have mustered the strength to post your story! :Kit n Stik; Personal question: Did they have you do dialysis while you were doing chemo? Someone once told me that in some cases they do dialysis right away following a chemo session to wash out the chemicals. Am just curious if they do this to help avoid damage. Hope you keep posting more!
