Title: Drain freaking Pain
Post by: mamagemini on September 14, 2017, 10:35:57 AM
2 years and suddenly it is back...the dreaded drain pain. The whole first year I had issues with it and now it has come back. Any ideas? ???

Did you have a fall? Do you have a temperature?

Good luck, love, Cas

I suspect that somehow your cath has 'shifted' position and is sucking up against a nerve.

Been there, done that, ain't NO Fun at all.

Call your PD Nurse and ask her if it is possible for your team to 'shift' the cath position.  Sometimes the Nurse can do a manual fill and by squeezing the bag very hard, the pressure can cause the hose to move a bit.  Something akin to a high pressure water hose whipping about in the yard.  It won't move that much within the confined space in your body, but they may be able to shift it far enough that is no longer sucking up against that mad nerve.

Good Luck.  I well know your pain.

Take Care,

It happened to me.  I was told that when I was full of fluid to jump up and down and see if it would shift back where it normally sits.  It did not work for me.  What seemed to work was when I started to feel the pain I would make sure I had drained enough I would bypass the drain to the fill. Check with the clinic before you do this.  I also slept on the opposite side of the drain pain as much as I could.  It took awhile but I do not notice it anymore.  I was willing to try anything to avoid surgery.  Good luck
