Post by: Danally on April 14, 2007, 03:46:57 PM: Hello I am not a dialysis patient. My father went on dialysis about 3-months ago. I have found a lot of great information on this site. My father is reacting very well to hemo. He is feeling much better then he has in 2-years. He is a diabetic and that is what caused his kidney failure.

It is great to hear that your dad is doing so well. Some people say you cannot live that long on dialysis. Is your dad diabetic?

There are members here that have been on dialysis for 25 years. I'm not sure if it is hemo dialysis but the idea of dialysis is to keep you alive. Without it your Dad would die.

I guess the way to loOK at it is when it's his turn then his time is up. Until then enjoy your time that you have and live each moment as if it is your last. I'm glad your Dad has adapted well to treatment.
