Title: Calcium too High!
Post by: Vivianalv on October 07, 2016, 01:19:48 PM
Not sure what do do anymore!!!  for the last few months I have been  battling with either Calcium too high or Phosporus too high, so they increase my binders when phosphorus is high then my calcium gets too high and my phosphorus normal,  now since the calcium is high they will have me drop one binder and less calcitriol a week then my phosphorus will be high!
I'm on Phoslo, two pills with meals, I could not do Renvela too strong for my stomach!

Any recommendations????

Phoslo will raise your calcium.  I was taking tons of Renvela and my phosp went quite high.  I added Velphoro to the mix and my phosp. came right down.

My calcium has run high for at least 30 years right at or slightly over the 10.2 max.  Any type of Vit D caused it to increase to a new record for me of 11.7 and started crystalizing in most every joint.  It was hell.

Rheum started me on a gout med to lower my uric acid and prednisone which surprisingly mad a huge difference in pain.  My Neph increased my sensipar and my calcium has dropped to the low 9's, my lowest EVER.  Well, maybe not ever but definately lower than it has been in 30 some years.  Low enough that I am now able to take two types of Vit D that I seriously need without causing a problem.
