Hi
My wife has been having Hemodialysis for about 8 months now. We are currently training so we can do this at home, the plumber and electrician are coming next week to start getting things ready for the installation of the Water filters and the Braun Dialysis machine.
I do most of the work with the machine, and can do everything now required for her dialysis under the supervision of the trainer at the hospital. We should be transitioning to dialysis at home in the next 3 - 4 weeks.
I'm lucky that my employer is understanding and I am able to work from home, so she can dialyse while I am working.
I've got a few questions so I will head off now and have a search around the forum as I'm sure most have been answered before.
Cheers
Steve

Welcome, I am happy to hear that you can work home and care for your wife at the same time. Just rember either side of the machine is stressful and take care of yourself as well as you wife.

Welcome. I'm a care partner for my husband on dialysis - we've been at home on and off for about 1.5 years depending on his health struggles. Currently on a home stretch again. You'll find lots of helpful information here.

Welcome and agree lots of help here! The different topics provide a wealth of information. It helped me when we started at home and since.

Welcome to IHD.
Earlier I had tried to post a 'Welcome' note, but my Laptop and I are not in a compatable mode. One of us has an attitude. Can't be ME! lol That touchpad and I do NOT get along very well and I, or this laptop, can erase a whole paragraph with a simple keystroke. This happens way too often.
Once upon a time we used pencil and paper. Life seemed much simpler. But we wouldn't have forums like this, would we?
Hopefully you will find this place useful, we try. Which is all we can do is keep trying to survive together.
Take Care,
Charlie B53
