I got my transplant almost 3 weeks ago and my urine output is still only 50 ml to about 100 ml every time I go and I got a living donor! I'm assuming it's even less with some deceased donors? I also assume it can take a couple months or more to get to normal urine output?
Any suggestions to increase urine output besides lasiks? They already gave lasiks the first 4 days in the hospital.

Assuming there iare no other physical condition obstructing urine flow, You can try parsley and/or dandelion tea (or tincture, or juice in combination with other vegetables) as they are natural diuretics. There are others I can list but parsley and dandelion are easy to find. Also, are you hydrating and drinking enough water? Please note that lastix does eventually damage kidneys

After the good old days of my dad's kidney I used Solidago (golden wort) tablets, they worked a treat too.
How much are you drinking?

What does your transplant team say? Personally,I wouldn't take anything that they don't know about, especially not this early in the game.

Please consult with your transplant team before trying any home or herbal product remedy. You don't know how they will interact with the transplant meds and maybe even do harm to your kidney. I understand your frustration, but please follow instructions from the transplant nephrologist during this fragile time. Best wishes - SutureSelf

I don't know anything about a transplanted kidney. But MY remaining kidney function i s greatly stimulated by two cups of coffee in the morning, then I switch to straight water, and LOTS of ice. I'm told that coffee is a natural diuretic and hopefully your Dr will approve, but as everyone mentioned, Please make sure with your Dr that it is not posing a hazard to your new kidney.
Are you still having problems retaining water and swelling?
Take Care,

Then wouldn't the parsley or dandelion tea eventually damage the kidney too since they do the same thing lasiks do?

I hope golden wort isn't just another diuretic but can actually help kidney function and lower creatinine? Yes, I'm drinking a lot.

Don't worry. I won't take anything without getting their approval first!

Are your ankles swollen? That would mean you are retaining fluid. Then you should call your Transplant Doc.
Otherwise good old pure water.... drink up.

No swelling. But there is only so much you can drink. Especially when you're not even thirsty. I am drinking a lot though!!

Okay, come on DGForever I want numbers, like 3 and a half liters or something

My urine output has increased significantly! I did 415 ml over a 7 hour period! Over 24 hours that's well over a liter!
You know what I did? Just exercise. A lot of walking and walking on the treadmill to increase circulation and oxygen delivery to the kidney. Even the NKF says exercise is crucial for kidney health!!
