Title: Things, they are a changing
Post by: kitkatz on March 14, 2016, 10:39:28 AM
The news from my dialysis center is they are dropping the nocturnal program from the clinic.
So I had to choose new hours.  Either MWF for six hours or a guarantee of the full seven if I got TTHSat 10-5.
I took TTHSAt 10-5.   This going to steal three days out of my week now.
I really do not want to make the change, but no choice was given to us, the nocturnal patients.
I really do not know what to think of it but am having to make peace with it.

Are you non US? I'm surprised to see a six or seven hour option...

That you are in good humor as you read this.......................................
As I recollect, there are only a few 'Constant's ,  'Change' is one of them.
The getting used too process, is what trips my circuit breakers.    :banghead;
Ha, often times reaching the 'peace' stage is a huge undertaking, that disturbs ones peace.
Along with 'iolaire', wasn't aware of more than the usual four hour dialysis sessions.
Did some one , some place, get hit by the famous/infamous, kitkatz cannons!   :Kit n Stik;

Hi Kitkatz did I miss a reason why you don't want to choose home hemo?

Love, Cas

Hubby and I would kill each other trying to do home dialysis.  He is Mr. Persnickety and I am not that picky.  He HATES technology so a dialysis machine would irritate him no end.
I just hate that my three days are being taken away from me.

I know changes in routine stink, dialysis hands us the dirty end of the stick too often.  I deal by looking at the positives, you loose three days but still have four left. Take care of your self any change in routine increases stress.  I will say a prayer that this transition is as stress free for you as possible.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this.  I am assuming they are dropping the nocturnal program because there wasn't enough profit in it?  How many other patients at your clinic are affected?

I also hate change, unless I can find some good in it.   Otherwise I'm of the opinion that change is a necessary EVIL.

I hope you can find some good in this to help make it easier to accept.

Take Care,

So sorry kk.  We dialysis patients are definitely creatures of habit.  Something works for us, we don't want any alterations.

Hope something positive comes of this.  Hang in there.

OMG I hope they don't drop ours.  Have you checked to see where the closest Nocturnal Center is from there?

I would hate to lose my days.  10 to 5?  Can you have lunch?  Then you won't sleep at night!

That is just poopie!              :stressed;
