Title: Good experiance today
Post by: Adam_W on April 03, 2007, 02:11:03 PM: Well, last Tuesday was awful for me (see the post "It happened again, only worse"), but this Tuesday was the complete opposite :). Our centre just changed to a new computer system to replace printed run records, and each machine has a computer monitor on top and a keyboard mounted to the side. The way the keyboard is mounted made it impossible for the machine to be turned toward the patient, and allow the tech to access the keyboard. I was resigned to the fact that I couldn't have the machine turned toward me anymore, and I was kind of bummed. I was talking to my tech about that, and she decided to fold the keyboard holder up, turn the machine completely toward me, and simply turn it back long enough to input my data, then turn the machine back toward me when she was finished. Doing that made the whole process very awkward for her, but she willingly went through with it so she could make me more comfortable. Her gesture really touched me, and it will never be forgotten. It was so good to have a staff member show such kindness and compassion for me after I've dealt with so much frustration. There most defiantly are good staff members out there :2thumbsup;.Take care.

Post by: goofynina on April 03, 2007, 04:30:41 PM: That must be common in clinics cuz i know there were techs that would do the world for you to make you happy and others that would just say "no can do" without even thinking twice about it. I am happy you had a good run Adam and i hope there are more like that in your future, try and always get the same nurse :2thumbsup; You'd be surprised, sometimes they can get a little flattered when you request them. Take care and keep us posted with more GOOD runs (and the bad ones too) but we want to hear that you are having more good than bad ;)
