Title: My Center is a Dump!
Post by: Rerun on June 01, 2015, 11:32:05 AM
It stinks, the AC blows right on me, only my left headphone works, and the TV won't stay on the channel.  Nothing life threatening but annoying when I pay for this.  Well, the fact they changed blood draw days is life threatening.

And I asked 'what next God',
the lobby restroom was posted 'out of order',  :banghead;
And I asked 'what next God',
the dialysis restroom was posted 'out of order',   :Kit n Stik;
And I asked 'what next God',
the lobby water fountain was posted 'out of order',  :sos;
And I asked 'what next God',
I wound up with four needles in my fistula,    :puke;
And I asked 'what next God',
all patients were 'unhooked' from the dialysis units due to a mechanical failure in the back room, for two hours, :rant;
And I asked 'what next God',
huge thunder storm outside,  :urcrazy;
And I asked 'what next God',
basement at home was flooded,        :oops;
Thank you God, for not letting all this happen at one time.      :bow;

Really gets me to hear of dialysis patients being treated like this. Sounds like you'll have to write another complaint letter. I'd also find a way to publicly shame them.

Some of the TV News stations have those expose type segments.  The Reporter hides a camera so we can see what is going on.  Later interviews both sides, the Complaintant and the Company so we, the Viewers can see and hear the Companies lame excuses for not taking care of the problems.

I lay most problems root to be Corporate Greed.  They don't want to bother spending anything, let the problems occur, all to increase profits.  Putting corporate money ahead of patient/customer health and comfort.

Shame on the Company for their greed.  Even worse because they have a 'captive' clientele, whom have no other choice but to use that company or do without Dialysis.

Generally I would never wish Dialysis on anyone.  I could easily make an exception for those within the company that could make a difference, but do not, simply to increase their bank account.  They need an on-going dose of our reality.

Try that in MA and the reporter will face a felony charge if audio was recorded.

A driver filed a complaint about a cop who was allegedly rude at a traffic stop, and produced a recording.  The driver was convicted of felony wiretapping (see Commonwealthv. Hyde), and the MA Supreme Judicial Court affirmed the conviction since the failure to do so would encourage criminals to document police misconduct.

Simon Dog have you watched the news lately.  Cameras all over the place used as evidence.

I know I had to sign something in the center that I would never video tape or record anything.  But, damn straight I would if something illegal was going on.

I do "shame" them when I get out my big clear umbrella and put it up to shield the AC cold wind, and that way I can still see the TV.  I hope they feel as stupid as I must look.

You may have a recourse about the air conditioning,  the tech and nurses in the center I use prefer the temperature on the cool side since they wear the paper smocks and are constantly running answering alarms.  One of the patients complained to (I think it was CMS) and the center was told to raise the temperature since the government has a temperature range that must be maintained.  So for the next year the employees sweated and I didn't need a heavy blanket.  The patient who complained move to a different clinic and the temperature has slowly dropped.  I would like to point out the TVs and other amenities at my center are definitely substandard.  However the center is jointly owned by Fresinius and a local hospital.  Wile Fresinius requires each tech to work on 4 patients the hospital sets the rules to 3 patients per tech.  Fresinius requires 2 RNs to be on site, the hospital staffs 4 RNs and a nurse Manager.  The other remarkable thing is in 28 months I have been going there only one person left and she retired.  On the shift I use the.least amount of service any staff member has is 14 years.  I am not looking for quality perks but quality care.

All the staff bitch about the pay and benefits but they don't leave....  Something must be good for them.  Where else can you knit 2 hats per shift?

Have you read Mass General Law or Commonwealth v. Hyde, Mass Supreme Judicial Court?

You will not see any of the television consumer activists in MA doing the "undercover investigation w/audio recording" that is common in other states.

The surreptitious record of audio by an individual other than law enforcement is a felony in MA, and the states highest court has upheld a conviction for someone using a phone/pocket recorder to record a police officer at a traffic stop.    That means that the citizen who felt he was being treated rudely at a traffic stop and captured evidence is precluded from certain occupations, licenses and firearms ownership for life as a "convicted felon".

Video recording is not thusly restricted.

Glick v. Boston (First district federal circuit court) later established it was legal to record the police, however, it is silent on the "surreptitious" part.

But, but... I have so much fun suing MA in federal court and making them pay my legal fees  :laugh:  I avoid state courts because they are heavily marsupial.
