Title: April Fools!
Post by: Sluff on April 01, 2007, 06:55:02 AM
I called my job one time and told them i would be late because I broke my arm that morning. What made it funny is we had a two man crew on a 3 story house and we had the roof torn off, getting it ready to re roof and one person could not do it they really needed me that week. Had the boss going he didn't know what he was going to do. Until I showed up and told him April Fools.  :rofl;

I told my entire class they were failing math class one April Fools.  They believed me too. I told them I was going to keep them after school to discuss their failing grades. At the end of the day I told them April Fools.

My biggest April Fool's joke was played on me-- with the help of an impatient OB-Gyn.

Twenty-one years ago I was preggers with son number three. He was due around April 12, but on March 30, the doctor decided he wanted to induce, since Brandon was  a bigger baby than the doc anticipated (he turned out smaller than two other brothers, go figure!). Since I was being admitted and induced on the 30th, I was fairly certain that I would have Brandon that day. But I suffered in labor on the 30th, and the 31st...and...

Brandon was born, by caesarian, right after midnight, April 1st! I had an April's Fool baby!

I homeschooled Brandon and his 3 other brothers, so they didn't know a thing about April's Fool, until they were teenagers-- so there was no teasing about it.  We had a  beach bonefire for the little April Fool last night to celebrate his 21st birthday.

My mother was born on April Fool's Day - she lied all the way through school, telling people she was born March 31, to avoid being kidded.  She turned 88 yesterday, and she's quit lying about it now!

I am double jointed in my left arm because of a broken arm I suffered when I was little.  Any way, on April fools day one year I had a friend push me into one of the tall lab tables in science class and I faked that I broke my arm by "overextending" it so it looked broke.  The teacher absolutely freaked out and had no clue what to do with herself.  I felt so bad I had to tell her right away that it was just a joke and my arm was fine.  It grossed a lot of people out, but I was a very popular kid for the rest of the day because of people wanting to see my arm bend that far in the wrong direction.

My friend who lives in St. Croix (one of the United States Virgin Islands) and who is originally from my country, called me Sunday morning to say that there was a tsunami coming towards Bridgetown (the capital of Barbados).  He said that he tried to get our online radio station and it was off.  I tried and it was.  I then called my sister in Barbados, and they live very near Bridgetown and had heard nothing of it.  Then my niece reminded me that it was April 1st.
But here is the joke!  I thought my friend was playing a prank on me.  It was only when I messaged him, calling him an April fool to mess with me like that, that he realized that he had been duped by a friend!  And he had already called relatives in Canada, and other places.  Soon after that we heard of the tsunami in the Solomon Islands.
This is the first time in years that I had any April Fools action. They don't really think of that over here in the BVI.
In France they call the person "Poisson d'Avril" (April Fish), and try to pin a fish on your back.
