Oh man, i am sorry that i didnt post this sooner but i have had a busy day. Last night i get an email from a member asking me about PD and draining problems, she was trying to contact her PD nurse and they werent returning her call, so, i thought i would call mine, guess what, i didnt get a return call either, man, that really upsets me, what if we were really in trouble, which i believe she was. Does anyone else have trouble contacting their physician or PD nurse afterhours? ???
I forgot to mention that i did talk to her today and she said she never got the page from the exchange. grrrrrrrrrrr >:(

When it's after hours for me, I am given a phone number for the clinic at the hospital in my city.
Not that they have helped me, but at least I can talk to someone.... They did not give her
an alternate number? There should ALWAYS be an alternate number. That's when emergencies
arise, darn it!!!

I'm the mystery woman. I have a whole list of phone numbers and procedures to follow for after hour emergencies/questions. None of them worked. >:( My PD nurse left her pager in her car. The nephrologist on call didn't respond to his pages for 6 hours. So the only thing the exchange could do was to tell me to go to the ER, which really wasn't necessary. My vitals were fine, I just couldn't drain. I was very uncomfortable and just looking for some advice on taking lasix, duclolax, etc. I guess I know now when I do have a problem to just go to the ER.
Thank you Susie for trying to help that night. :cuddle;

Darn it Chicken. I HATE going to the Emergency Room. I had that problem, of not being able to drain,
so I went to the 4.25 bag (red), and stayed on it for several days til I was draining well. Whoo did I drain.
BP goes WAAAY down too, unfortunately! I'm on green now (2.75) and will stay on that for a while before
trying a yellow (1.25) again.

Gee, I am on call 24/7; my patients call my cell phone #. I've never missed a call but they have the MD's page number as back up just in case and when I'm on vacation I have a back up contact-another PD nurse who doesn't live around us but can troubleshoot for them.
