Title: short gut and kidney transplant

Do you know anyone who already had a “short gut” and was able to subsequently have a successful kidney transplant? According to the medical literature I have read, persons who have lost a large percentage of their small intestine are likely to develop calcium oxalate crystals. These crystals can eventually destroy the capacity of a kidney to function as it should. They can also subsequently damage a transplanted kidney. There are however, some literature reports of persons with short gut having successful kidney transplants.

I am trying to find information about how persons with a short gut can be successfully transplanted and would like to hear from anyone with ideas.
